Ingredients

  1. 2 oz Gin

  2. 2-4 oz Tonic

  3. 1/2 oz Fig + Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup

  4. 2 Dashes of Orange Bitters

  5. Ice

Serving size: 1 glass

Directions

If you have been following my cocktail recipes, you know the drill by now. Always chill a glass in the freezer for at least an hour. Add 2 ounces of gin, ice and fig + vanilla simple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until mixed and pour into the chilled glass. Add 2-4 oz of tonic with the 2 dashes of bitters and stir mixture together.

Now serve and enjoy!

Want to make your own simple syrup? Here is how to do it!

What you need:

  1. 6 Fresh Figs

  2. 1/2 cup sugar

  3. 1/2 cup water

  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla (I use fresh vanilla beans, scooping out the beans)

Directions

Slice the fresh figs in half and remove the stems. Next, add all the ingredients to a sauce pan, bringing them to a boil over medium heat. Allow the figs to break down and continue to simmer for 5-7 minutes making sure the mixture does not burn. Once the mixture has broken down, allow it to cool. Finally, strain the mixture using a mesh strainer and store in the fridge.

Serves 10 - 12 cocktails.
